Listen Up! Exhibit Research Data: Reported Noise Exposures

Visitors to the Listen Up! exhibit reported the following noise exposures during the past year. Each one of these sounds can be loud enough to cause permanent damage to our ears. Try changing the way you view the data to see how results change by age, gender, or hearing threshold.

	During the past year, number of visitors who:
	Used stereo headphones: 3769 (52%)
	Used a gas-powered lawn mower or leaf blower: 3343 (46%)
	Rode on a jet ski, snowmobile, or motorcycle: 1642 (23%)
	Fired a gun: 1842 (25%)
	Rode in a car with a loud stereo: 3920 (54%)
	Played in band: 756 (10%)
	Went to a motorcycle or car race: 1179 (16%)
	Went to a concert: 3031 (42%)
	Went to a tractor pull or monster truck show: 865 (12%)
	Total sample size: 7294
