Listen Up! Exhibit Research Data:
Reported Noise Exposures
Visitors to the Listen Up! exhibit reported the following noise exposures during the past year. Each one of these sounds can be loud enough to cause permanent damage to our ears. Try changing the way you view the data to see how results change by age, gender, or hearing threshold.
The red part of the line represents the percent of people who said they did experience that noise.
For more information on noise-induced hearing loss, visit our
Hearing Loss page, or check out the
Measuring Sound and How Loud is Too Loud? sections of the Dangerous Decibels Virtual Exhibit.
